IZ*ONE to drop album on Feb. 17

Girl group IZ*ONE will be dropping its highly anticipated full-length album “BLOOM*IZ” on Feb. 17, its agency Off The Record said on Monday.

The agency released the cover image for the album through its official social media accounts on Sunday at midnight, sharing the much anticipated news to fans.

IZ*ONE released its second EP “HEART*IZ” in April 2018 and had initially planned to release its first full-length album in November.

But when police officially announced that the producers of “Produce 101” - the audition series on cable channel Mnet through which IZ*ONE debuted - had rigged fan votes to debut their own favorites, the group came to a temporary halt and postponed its album release.

X1, the boy band that debuted through the fourth season of the show, was disbanded last month.

“[The album] contains the 12 girls in their full beauty, just before the moment they bloom,” the agency said.

The release is the end of the group’s flower-themed series that began with “La Vie en Rose” (2018) and “Violeta” (2019).
