Rocket Punch member will sit out

Yunkyoung of girl group Rocket Punch will be taking some time off due to a knee injury, her agency Woollim Entertainment said on Monday.

According to the agency, Yunkyoung had complained of pain in her knees while preparing for the group’s new album. She has since been diagnosed with synovitis, a specific kind of joint inflammation.

Yunkyoung participated in making and promoting the album after a doctor said that the injury shouldn’t affect her daily life but recommended the agency keep an eye on her condition.

“We have concluded that it may be too difficult for her to carry out the choreography,” the agency said.

“But she will be participating in every other scheduled event, except for music shows, as she did not want to concern fans because of her injury.”

The five remaining members of the group - Juri, Yeonhee, Suyun, Sohee and Dahyun - will continue promoting their latest release without Yunkyoung.

“We thank the fans once again for their support, and we promise to provide the best care for our artists’ health and conditions,” Woollim said.

Rocket Punch made its debut last year as a six-member group with “Pink Punch” and recently released its second EP “Red Punch,” with the lead track “Bouncy.”
