Ticketing paused for Daegu show

The ticketing process for the SBS Super Concert in Daegu on March 8, featuring BTS, NCT 127, Zico, Pentagon, SF9, The Boyz and other K-pop stars, has been deferred in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

“We would like to postpone ticket sales for now as we make some safety checks for the concert,” SBS posted on its website Tuesday. “We will provide an update to the situation via the SBS mobile application and the Super Concert homepage. We are grateful for your patience.”

Tickets to the concert are free, but those interested in attending need to apply for a seat and be selected.

The concert is set to take place in Daegu Stadium. The stadium can hold over 66,000 people at once. The company has no plans to cancel or delay the concert, according to Yonhap News.

“We are watching the situation and discussing our next steps,” an employee of SBS told the media outlet on Tuesday. “We will be coordinating with the health authorities as well in helping us make the final decisions.”

As other concerts and public events are being canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Record Label Industry Association of Korea said it will be collecting information on how much the outbreak has cost the music industry this winter.

“The damage inflicted by the outbreak to artists and music companies has been severe,” Shin Jong-gill, secretary general of Record Label Industry Association of Korea, said in a statement Tuesday. “The situation is expected to continue into April, and I am afraid some companies may go out of business by then.”
