A thank you letter from tenants of the Woorim Market is posted on the wall in Jungnang District, eastern Seoul, on Thursday. A building owner that has eight stores in the market reduced rent for February and March by half to alleviate financial woes of merchants caused by the new coronavirus outbreak. The Korean government announced Thursday offers for tax cuts for building owners that volunteer to cut rent for small brick-and-mortar businesses nationwide. The measure includes the government offering half of the discount through income or corporate tax cuts. [YONHAP]
