Green Day calls off Seoul concert

American rock band Green Day said Friday that it has decided to cancel a concert scheduled for Seoul on March 22.

“We have unfortunately made the difficult decision to postpone our upcoming shows in Asia due to the health + travel concerns with coronavirus,” the band wrote on Twitter Thursday. “We know it sucks, as we were looking forward to seeing you all, but hold on to your tickets we’ll be announcing the new dates very soon.”

Refunds for tickets will be made accordingly, Live Nation Korea, the concert’s organizers, said.

The three-member band achieved success with “Dookie,” their third full-length album, in 1994 and some of the band’s songs such as “Basket Case” were popular among Korean fans.

They were last in Seoul for a performance in 2010.
