Samsung Electronics makes training center available

Samsung Electronics will offer its training center in Yeongdeok, North Gyeongsang, to be used as a care center for those with a mild case of the coronavirus, the tech company announced on Monday.

The move came as Korea faces challenges finding locations for taking care of people infected with the virus.

The training center will be used to help the mild cases recover from the infection with the help of health professionals remotely treating them.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a state-run disease control body, will work on transferring the patients this week.

Built in May 2017, the 8,500 square-meter (91,493 square-foot) center has 300 rooms.

The company has offered 30 billion won of support to help those affected by the outbreak.
