Korea’s ‘Underdog’ is heading to French movie theaters in April

Local animated film “Underdog” is heading to France this spring.

According to its distribution company Next Entertainment World, the local film will premiere in French theaters under the title “Nous, les chiens” on April 29.

French distribution company The Jokers, which also distributed Academy Awards-winning “Parasite,” will be promoting the film in France.

“We’re very proud to introduce ‘Underdog’ to France,” the company said. “This stylish piece of work which transcends generations will make moviegoers - children and adults alike - happy.”

The story is centered around an abandoned dog named Moongchi and his friends who go on a journey to find a home where they will truly be free to do what they want.

The film was released in Korea in January 2019 and was invited to compete in the Annecy International Animated Film Festival last April. The voices of Moongchi and other dogs were provided by actors Do Kyung-soo, Park So-dam, Park Chul-min, Lee Jun-hyeok and more.
