A structure that had been on the roof of a building east of Seoul in Namyangju, Gyeonggi, lies destroyed after strong winds on Thursday. Korea was hit by typhoon-class winds, which caused a number of injuries and forest fires, as well as massive damage to outdoor facilities, across the nation. The Korea Meteorological Administration said the instantaneous maximum wind speed exceeded 100 kilometers (62 miles) per hour in many regions, destroying the roofs and windows of buildings, spreading mountain fires and forcing the cancellations of domestic flights and ferry services.
