Lee Hyori calls on fans to help rescued dog get to Canada

테스트

Singer Lee Hyori is asking her fans for help to get a rescued dog to Canada.

“I found Juju living in a cage last summer,” she wrote on Instagram on Sunday afternoon. “Luckily, we found someone who lives in Canada who is happy to adopt Juju, but we are now stuck.”

Along with a photo of Juju, Lee posted a message from the nongovernmental organization Welcome Dog Korea, which finds homes worldwide for rescued dogs from Korea. The message read, “We are looking for a Canadian citizen who is traveling from Korea to Canada to bring a rescued dog with them. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Canada has closed its borders to foreigners. We need your help!”

Several nongovernmental organizations based in Korea offer similar services that match rescued dogs with families all over the world. In light of the coronavirus outbreak, some 80 countries have closed their borders to Koreans or foreign citizens who have visited or stayed in Korea, including Canada, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Germany.
