Monsta X becomes latest group to cancel tour dates amid pandemic

Boy group Monsta X canceled its Seoul concert scheduled for May due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“At this time, it is impossible to predict the scale of the outbreak during the dates of the concert in May,” its agency Starship Entertainment announced Monday on its Twitter account. “In order to prevent further damage and to protect the health of fans, artists and staff members, we ask for your understanding [about our decision].”

The agency promised to secure a new schedule for the Seoul concert after the situation stabilizes.

The Seoul concert was scheduled as the first stop of the group’s “2020 Monsta X World Tour.” The shows were originally to be held May 9 and 10 at KSPO Dome in southern Seoul.

The group is to release a new album next month.
