Woo Hye-rim appears with boyfriend on MBC’s ‘Don’t Be Jealous’

Woo Hye-rim, former member of girl group Wonder Girls, made an appearance together with her boyfriend on MBC’s reality show “Don’t Be Jealous” on Monday, the first time the couple has appeared on TV together.

It was just a few weeks ago that Woo broke the news to her fans that she has been dating someone. On March 14 she posted on her Instagram, “Today may be just another day, but it is indeed a special day for me […] First, I would like to reveal that there is someone special who I have been seeing, and thanks to MBC, we have been given the opportunity to join a program called ‘Don’t Be Jealous.’”

Shin Min-cheol, a 35-year-old taekwondo athlete, appeared with Woo on the show Monday evening. The two spoke about their seven years of dating. The show follows celebrities and their real-life relationships, bringing their love stories on screen.

“After the show went on air, a lot of people have congratulated me,” Woo told XSports News, a local media outlet, after the show. “I wanted to talk about someone who has now become a part of my life.”

When asked why she decided to go public about her relationship with Shin, Woo said, “I wanted to go public when I had faith in the other person. It took some time, but now I would like to share the joy with others.”

Shin is the founder of Mirme Taekwondo, an extreme taekwondo group and training center established in 2012.

The group focuses on incorporating other extreme martial arts elements into taekwondo and training adults for the sport that has increasingly become focused on children in Korea.
