UP10TION’s Jinhoo to skip upcoming album to focus on ‘health issues’

Member Jinhoo of boy band UP10TION will not be taking part in the band’s upcoming album, its agency TOP Media said on Tuesday night.

According to the agency, Jinhoo will be taking time off from UP10TION’s scheduled activities due to “health issues,” while members Lee Jin-hyuk and Kim Woo-seok will continue as solo singers for the time being.

Lee and Kim took part in “Produce X 101” (2019), the fourth season of cable channel Mnet’s K-pop audition program, of which the producers are being investigated for rigging fan votes and manipulating the show’s results.

Kim made it to X1, the resulting project band from the show which had to disband due to the allegations, but Lee did not.

The agency announced that the two will be continuing as solo artists, while the remaining seven members of UP10TION will continue to make music together this year.

“UP10TION plans to drop its album this summer,” the agency said.
