Local celebs pick up books to read to kids stuck inside

테스트

Some Korean celebrities started joining the movement by stars worldwide to read stories to children stuck at home due to coronavirus lockdowns.

“Why not join us in reading stories to children stuck at home at this time?” actor Yoon So-yi says in a video uploaded to the Save With Stories Korea Instagram account last week. Yoon is an ambassador for Save the Children Korea.

Save With Stories is a campaign created by American actors Jennifer Garner and Amy Adams, in cooperation with Save the Children and No Kid Hungry. Since the campaign’s launch last month, actors including Steve Carrell and Reese Witherspoon have joined the campaign, uploading videos of them reading children’s books of their choice on Instagram.

Since Yoon’s post last week, more than a dozen stars in Korea have joined the campaign, including comedian Park Kyung-rim who read “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein and Henry Lau who read “The Big Fart” (translation) by Kim Kyung-soo.
