Hyundai Mobis is expanding an R&D center in India

Hyundai Mobis will expand its auto software research center in Hyderabad, India, the company said Monday.

The site in India works together with Korea’s research and development (R&D) headquarters to test and develop software for in-car entertainment and for airbag control units. It has more than 700 staff.

Technology-wise, the second research center, which is currently under construction, will focus on software algorithms for autonomous driving and parking and on sensors that will enhance accuracy.

Among the projects planned is the establishment of a database for a video recognition algorithm.

In addition to the software R&D center in India, Hyundai Mobis has R&D units in Korea, China, Europe and the United States.
