Eggslut to crack the Korean market with a Coex branch

Eggslut, the Shake Shack of eggwiches, is coming to Korea in June.

SPC is the local partner and will be opening the branch at Coex in June.

The company, which is behind Shake Shack in Korea and Paris Baguette, said Tuesday that it signed an agreement to operate Eggslut in Korea and Singapore.

SPC’s goal with Eggslut is to expand the fine casual dining market leveraging up its confectionery and bakery business capabilities.

The Slut, a soft coddled egg with potato puree, is Eggslut’s signature dish.

“We are pleased to show Korean guests the special taste of ‘Eggslut,’ which means someone who loves eggs,” said Jeff Vales, co-founder of Eggslut, in a statement. “SPC Samlip has the standout production and supply chain of eggs, meat processing, vegetables, sauces, etc. based on baking technology. Therefore SPC Samlip is the best partner to maintain the high quality of the Eggslut menus.”

SPC said it signed with Eggslut to strengthen its restaurant business and create synergies with existing businesses.

Eggslut has four shops in California and one in Las Vegas. It also has locations in Tokyo, Notting Hill, London and Kuwait City.
