The Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water), with “World Top K-water” as its slogan, declared a new vision at its head office in Daejeon on July 15.

Since appointing Park Jae-Hyeon as its new CEO, K-water has come up with new management principles and organized a team of experts to strengthen its capabilities in terms of innovative water management. These efforts along with the new vision will enable K-water to get one step closer to becoming a world renowned water company.

Through the new vision, K-water hopes to become the “World’s Top Water Integrated Platform Company.” The new vision will focus on innovating water management systems to effectively deal with an era where new values and standards are prevalent in society.

Climate change, digital transformation along with the aftermath of the coronavirus will lead to the creation of an era of “new-normal.” With constant innovation to cope with uncertainties in the future, K-water hopes to provide great quality water to residents.

K-water will introduce 7 core tasks to fulfill its new vision. These tasks are to provide a river environment where nature and humans can coexist, supply reliable tap water for people to enjoy, devise a carbon-neutral water management system for dealing with the climate crisis, digitalize the water management system, create water circulation in city areas which enhances quality of life, create an innovative environment in the water industry to vitalize the economy and apply innovative management methods which encourage active communication with the people.

“In the ‘new-normal’ era with issues like climate change and digital transition, water management should focus on encouraging co-existence with nature and widely expanding water welfare for the residents.” said Park Jae-Hyeon, CEO of K-water.

“K-water also hopes to cooperate with the government’s new Green New Deal policy to make contributions in terms of vitalizing the economy and becoming a company which leads global water management standards.”
