Much-anticipated release of 'Space Sweepers' set for Sept. 23
After wrapping filming on Nov. 2 last year, the much anticipated sci-fi blockbuster “Space Sweepers” is finally ready to premiere in local box offices on Sept. 23.
Originally scheduled to be released in local cinemas during the summer, the date was pushed back due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The story is set in the year 2092, when the spaceship crew of “Seungriho,” who are scavengers looking for worthwhile trash to sell, discover a humanoid robot named Dorothy, which was once labeled as a weapon of mass destruction.
Veteran actors Song Joong-ki, Kim Tae-ri, Yoo Hae-jin and Jin Sun-kyu are cast in the lead roles.
