After new Covid-19 cases spiked as a result of a large antigovernment rally on Gwanghwamun Square, central Seoul, which was led by Rev. Jun Kwang-hoon, president of the Christian Council of Korea and an ally of the opposition United Future Party (UFP), the approval rating of the ruling Democratic Party (DP) jumped to 38.9 percent — up 4.1 percent from the previous week — according to a Realmeter poll.
