BTS will be taking part in a global art project titled "do it (around the world)" along with some of the biggest names in the contemporary art scene, flaunting its artistic philosophy once again and sharing the story of connecting.

방탄소년단은 현대미술의 거장들과 함께 글로벌 예술 프로젝트인 “do it (around the world)”에 참여해 그들의 예술철학을 다시 한번 뽐내며 소통의 이야기를 나눈다.

The "do it" project began in 1993 with Hans Ulrich Obrist, a renowned art director who was listed No. 1 on ArtReview's 100 Power list in 2009 and 2016, when he collected notes from 12 different artists carrying different messages or explanations about their artworks.

“Do it” 프로젝트는 미술전문지 아트리뷰로부터 ‘세계 미술 파워 100인’ 중 1위에 2009년과 2016년 올랐던 저명한 아트 디렉터 한스 울리히 오브리스트가 1993년 12명의 아티스트로부터 그들의 작품에 대한 다양한 메시지나 설명을 담은 메모를 수집하면서 시작되었다.

The project has been held annually for 27 years since then, with artists from all around the world participating by sharing a "how-to" on their artwork for people to follow. The resulting works are compiled into exhibitions.

이 프로젝트는 전세계 다양한 예술가들이 누구나 따라 할 수 있도록 그들의 작품 창작법을 설명서 방식으로 만들어 공유하는 식으로 그 이후 27년동안 매년 개최 되고 있다. 결과물은 전시로 엮여 구현된다.

This year, the project is taking place online due to the coronavirus. This has allowed for a wider range of participants than ever before, and anyone can access the messages at any time of the day.

올해는 코로나바이러스로 인해 프로젝트가 온라인으로 진행된다. 이로 인해 그 어느때보다 더 광범위한 참가자들이 참여할 수 있고 메시지 또한 누구나 하루 중 언제든지 접근 할 수 있게 되었다.

Subtitled "around the world," the project has been organized by London's famed Serpentine Galleries in collaboration with Google Arts & Culture.

부제로 “세계일주 (around the world)”가 붙은 이번 프로젝트는 런던의 유명한 서펜타인 갤러리가 구글 아트앤컬쳐 (Google Arts & Culture)와 협업을 통해 준비 되었다.

Musicians Arca and Kelsey Lu, artists Olafur Eliasson, Oscar Murillo, Precious Okoyomon, Shawanda Corbett, Patrick Staff and Ian Cheng, and designers Virgil Abloh and Es Devlin will also take part. BTS took part by voicing the importance of connecting and going beyond, which has been the band's core message that it has been spreading in various events such as the "Speak Yourself" speech it gave at the United Nations Generation Unlimited in 2018.

뮤지션 아르카와 켈시 루, 설치미술가 올라퍼 엘리아슨을 비롯해 프레셔스 오코요몬, 샤완다 코벳, 패트릭 스태프, 이안 청 등 예술가들, 그리고 디자이너 버진 아블로와 에스 데블린 등도 참여한다. 방탄소년단은 이번 프로젝트에서 2018년 UN 총회 제네레이션 언리미티드에서의 “Speak Yourself” 연설 등 다양한 행사를 통해 밝혀온 그들이 확산하려는 그룹의 핵심 메시지인 경계를 넘은 연결의 중요성에 대해 목소리를 내었다.

"Connect one dot with another," wrote BTS. "Draw a line, create a plane. Beyond the boundaries of time and space, 'You' and 'I' become 'We.' Our future is a beautiful image." All works will be displayed through Google Arts & Culture's "do it" page.

방탄소년단은 “점과 점을 연결합니다. 선을 잇고 면을 그립니다. 시간과 공간의 경계를 넘어 ‘너’와 ‘나’는 ‘우리’가 됩니다. 우리의 미래는 한 폭의 아름다운 그립입니다”라고 적었다. 모든 작품들은 구글 아트앤컬쳐의 “do it” 페이지에서 볼 수 있다.
