NCT 127’s second Japanese mini album ranks No.1 on Oricon
Boy band NCT 127’s second Japanese mini album “Loveholic” topped the weekly album chart on Japanese music chart Oricon, according to SM Entertainment on Tuesday.
It marks the band's first time to top Oricon's weekly chart. NCT 127 previously topped the daily album chart on Feb. 17, the day “Loveholic” was released.
This week’s Oricon chart was based on sales between Feb. 15 and Feb. 21.
“Loveholic” was also first place on several other Japanese music charts, including Billboard Japan’s weekly Top Album Sales chart, Line Music’s daily chart, and Rakuten Music’s real-time chart.
The mini album features six songs — five Japanese songs including the lead track “gimme gimme” and the previous lead track “Kick It” (2020) from the band’s second Korean full-length album.
NCT 127 debuted in 2016 with the song “Firetruck” and has released hits such as “Cherry Bomb” (2017), “Regular” (2018), “Superhuman” (2019) and “Punch” (2020). Its 2018 song “Simon Says” was the fastest song to top Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart from a male K-pop group.
