Big Smile Day, eBay Korea’s biggest shopping event in the first half of 2021, proved a huge hit with more than 2.87 million sales made on the first day of the event.

Gmarket Global Shop is also on board, launching its own shopping event in tandem with the Big Smile Day: the Mega G festival.

eBay Korea is operating Gmarket Global in Chinese and English, targeting foreign customers both in Korea and overseas. During the Mega G festival, which will wrap up on 18th, a range of Korean brands are offered at special discounts — up to 70 percent off regular prices.

Participating companies and brands include Kanu, CJ Cheiljedang, Tony Moly, Etude, Innisfree, Clio, Caraz and Purion, varying from fashion, cosmetics and K-pop to food, living and childrens’ products.

Mega G’s success is attributed to the quick delivery service and convenient payment system Gmarket Global provides, along with the strategic marketing through social network service platforms.

Gmarket launched the Gmarket Global Shop in English for foreign customers in 2006, which was the first of its kind in the industry, and later expanded the service to Chinese in 2013. Now Gmarket Global Shop is providing various products and services for customers from more than 80 countries across the globe.

The company operates a warehouse located in Incheon, Gyeonggi, for logistic support. Over 80 percent of the orders are delivered within three days, local time.

Diversified payment methods such as Paypal and Alipay also make for an easier shopping experience.

Moreover, Gmarket Global supports sellers throughout the entire process of product export and provides help for those who struggle with language barriers.
In addition, Gmarket Global’s official YouTube channel, “Inssa Oppa G” is attracting attention among younger generations. The channel introduces Korean culture for foreigners and has over 360 thousand subscribers.
