Korea failed to earn an Olympic berth for the men’s 3x3 basketball event after finishing the 2021 International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Graze, Austria with one win and three losses.

Four Koreans — Kim Min-seob, Park Min-su and brothers Lee Seung-jun and Lee Dong-jun — competed at the tournament, but immediately lost two games to Belgium 22-14 and the USA 21-3.

On Saturday, Korea managed to beat Kazakhstan 21-13. Kazakhstan were better at one-pointers but Korea managed more shots beyond the arc, worth two points.

Kim scored 11 points, Lee Dong-jun made five, Lee Seung-jun scored three and Park got two.

However, Korea had to finish the qualifiers with a 22-12 loss against Lithuania the same day.

With one win and three losses, Korea finished 16th.

At the Tokyo Games, the men's and women's basketball 3x3 tournaments will begin on July 24 and run through July 28.

The group stage runs through July 27 and the knockout games will be held on July 27 and 28, when the gold medal and bronze medal games are held.
