The Korea Green Finance Forum was established Thursday.
The forum, co-headed by Seoul Guarantee Insurance President & CEO Yoo Kwang-yeol and Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute President Yoo Je-chul, was set up to discuss ways to foster green financing that helps funds flow into projects to tackle climate change.
“Green financing should be a movement because it must become one not simply because we want it to,” Yoo from the Seoul Guarantee Insurance said.
The forum plans to invite financial companies as well as representatives from the government and academia to act as a networking platform to discuss green financing.
Initial members of the forum include SK Telecom, KB Securities and Hansol Inticube.
