Singer Kim Sung-kyu, also known as Sunggyu of the boy band Infinite, tested positive for Covid-19 Sunday even though he got a Jassen vaccine more than two weeks ago, his agency Double H TNE said in a statement on Sunday.

“Kim Sung-kyu is now asymptomatic and shows no problems in his condition,” the agency said. “He will suspend all his activities and follow the guidelines of the health authorities.”

“He had been getting tested for Covid-19 every week to prepare for his appearance in the musical ‘Gwanghwamun Love Song,’” the agency explained. “He was vaccinated with the Janssen vaccine on June 10. However, he tested positive for Covid-19 today.”

The agency added that all the staff who crossed paths or came into contact with Kim also got tested for the virus and those who came into close contact will isolate themselves for two weeks regardless of the test results.

Kim, 32 years old, is the leader and main vocalist of Infinite, which made its debut in 2010. He has been also active as a solo singer and musical actor.
