Netflix signs partnership with Dexter Studios, Livetone

Global video streaming service Netflix signed a two-year partnership contract with Korean visual effects company Dexter Studios and its subsidiary Livetone, Netflix announced on Tuesday.
Dexter Studios and Livetone have been in charge of the post-production for Netflix series “Kingdom” (2019-) and “The School Nurse Files” (2020), and Netflix films “Space Sweepers” (2021) and “Time to Hunt” (2020).
Through this partnership, Netflix aims to expand its cooperation with Dexter Studios’s Digital Intermediate department which does overall post-production corrections including color correction, along with Livetone which is in charge of sound design and mixing.
“We want to thank all our incredible creative and post-production partners in Korea for their support over the years,” wrote Ha Jung-su, Director of Post Production at Netflix Korea on Netflix’s official website.
“We are very excited to continue this journey with Korea’s creative ecosystem so more Korean shows on Netflix can be discovered and loved everywhere.”
Netflix has said it plans to invest approximately 550 billion won ($486 million) this year alone in Korean content to expand its variety of genres, aiming to create action, thriller, science fiction, standup comedy and sitcom content.
