Genesis issues PLCC with Hyundai Card

Hyundai Card's private label credit card (PLCC) released in partnership with Genesis, Hyundai Motor's luxury brand [HYUNDAI CARD]

Hyundai Card said Wednesday it released a private label credit card (PLCC) with Genesis, a luxury car brand under Hyundai Motor.

A PLCC is a credit card designed with benefits and rewards from a specific brand.

The card offers a variety of rewards for Genesis car owners including Bluemembers points, a reward points system for owners of Hyundai and Genesis vehicles. The points can be used at Bluemembers shopping mall as well as affiliated online and offline stores, according to the card company.

The card comes in two types depending on whether the cardholder owns an electric vehicle (EV) or not. While the rewards will be granted in membership points, where they will earn membership points from differs depending on the card type. For instance, EV users could earn up to 100 percent of their charging fees in membership points depending on their monthly spending on the card.

All Genesis-branded card holders can earn 5 percent on their spending on plane tickets, hotels, department store shopping, and golf in Bluemembers points. The card also offers free airport lounge access and free parking at designated areas. For a new purchase of a Hyundai vehicle, 1.5 percent of the car price will be saved as membership points.
