Retailers are being forced to shut stores and warehouses due to Covid-19 outbreaks.

A Coupang warehouse in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang, was shut Thursday after one of the workers tested positive for the virus.

The employee had been at the site from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday dawn.

Coupang “immediately alerted workers of the Covid-19 outbreak and is actively responding to quarantine measures,” said a spokesperson for the company.

Coupang runs two warehouses in Gimhae. The one closed Thursday stocks fresh produce.

Four workers at Market Kurly’s warehouse in Songpa District, southern Seoul, tested positive last week.

The warehouse was not required by the health authorities to shut.

A cluster infection linked to the Hyundai Department Store at Coex, southern Seoul, jumped to 69 cases as of Wednesday 6 p.m.

The outbreak began after two workers employed in the basement food floor of the department store tested positive on Sunday.

The store will be closed until Monday and is set to reopen Tuesday.
