KT has established KT Seezn, a subsidiary to operate the telecom company's Seezn online video platform, and appointed Jang Dae-jin as its CEO.

KT Seezn will focus on running the company’s existing Seezn over-the-top (OTT) video service. KT Studio Genie, a content production subsidiary, will provide the content and Seezn will deliver it to customers.

Seezn was first made available in November 2019. It was based on the mobile service of KT’s Olleh TV IPTV and now provides content from television channels KBS, MBC and SBS.

Jang has been leading KT’s media content teams, especially in the new media category, such as running the OTT. Since last year, he has been managing all of KT’s content businesses.

KT Seezn will start by renewing its service model to better cater to users and make investments to ensure a steady supply of exclusive content from in and outside of Korea.

“We will grow KT Seezn as the biggest OTT service provider in Korea using the powerful media platform owned by KT,” Jang said.

“We will take KT’s media businesses a step further through innovative services and satisfactory content for the users that will succeed not only in Korea but also overseas.”
