Hana Bank adopts so-called Equator Principles

Hana Bank said Monday that it has adopted the Equator Principles, a framework for financial institutions to manage environmental and social risks in projects.

"Based on 10 basic principles presented by the Equator Principles, global financial institutions voluntarily vow not to offer project financing for projects that could be harmful to the environment or violate human rights," the bank said in a statement Monday.

The move was part of the bank's efforts to improve its environmental, social and governance management, according to the company.
