NCSoft and Sony Music Korea sign content cooperation deal

NCSoft signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sony Music Korea on cooperation in the entertainment business, NCSoft said on Monday.

After the MOU, artists managed by Sony Music Korea will join NCSoft’s Universe online fan community platform. NCSoft will create content based on the artists, such as livestreamed performances, videos and pictorials and artificial intelligence voices of the artists.

Other artists that have already joined Universe will have the music they have created for Universe distributed by Sony Music Korea.

Universe started service on Jan. 28 this year as a K-pop entertainment platform developed by NCsoft. Fans of K-pop artists can listen to AI-generated voices of artists and with monthly subscriptions access exclusive content related to the artists.

K-pop artists and groups are signed onto Universe, including singer Kang Daniel and boy band Monsta X. It is currently available in 134 countries.
