CJ Logistics will use SK Energy gas stations

CJ Logistics is teaming up with SK Energy to use its gas stations as local fulfillment centers.

CJ Logistics said use of the gas stations will allow it to make deliveries of online purchases in a couple of hours.

“Since gas stations are located in key areas of cities, they are close to homes,” said Cho Choung-houn, a spokesperson for CJ Logistics. “This will enable deliveries to be made in just two to three hours after an order is placed. It will also be a useful delivery method for customers who place an order via live commerce, which is becoming a major retail trend.”

Live commerce is similar to home shopping, but is streamed on the internet. An increasing number of retailers, including Coupang, are offering live commerce shows.

CJ Logistics said charging stations for electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles are also planned for the gas stations.
