A new shopping mall named Times Stream is opening in Sillim, southern Seoul, on Nov. 5.

Times Stream is run by Kyungbang, which runs the Times Square shopping mall in Yeongdeungpo in western Seoul.

The new mall is a refurbishing of Podo Mall. Connected to Sillim Station, Times Stream’s main concept is nature.

It is 15 stories with two basement floors. The gross area of the shopping mall is 38,000 square meters (409,029 square feet).
Main targets of Times Stream are people born in 80s through early 2010s.

The word Stream in the mall’s name is from the word streaming, which is becoming a common consumption pattern among young people who increasingly wish to experience content instead of possessing products, according to Kyungbang.

The mall will have three main sections: Streaming Style, Streaming View, Streaming Taste.

Streaming Style has casual outdoor and sports brands like TopTen, 8seconds and MLB, while Streaming View section is a cultural space where Lotte Cinema and Youngpoong bookstore are located. Streaming View is where popular restaurants and cafes like Starbucks and Shake Shack are located.

“The Times Stream will have culture, fashion and food stores that are optimized for millennials and Generation Z,” said a spokesperson for Kyungbang. “We’ll continuously expand customer-centered contents.”
