Salt Entertainment said Tuesday it is currently “fact checking” allegations that “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” star Kim Seon-ho once pressured a girlfriend to get an abortion.

“We are sorry to worry you with such distasteful news," the agency said. “We are verifying the facts.”

On Sunday. an anonymous poster claiming to be the ex-girlfriend of “actor K” wrote online that she became pregnant with K’s child in July 2020. She claimed K told her he would lose advertising deals if his public image took a hit due to premarital parenthood, which is frowned upon in Korea. K allegedly gave her 2 million won ($1,700) for the abortion.

The person also claimed that two years prior to the abortion, K promised to marry her, but ended the relationship four months ago.

Word spread that K might be Kim Seon-ho, and his agency finally broke its silence on Tuesday. The agency apologized for the delayed statement.

Kim was the star of the popular tvN series “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” which ended on Sunday. He was set to hold an online press interview celebrating the show’s ending on Wednesday, but the agency canceled it on Tuesday citing “internal affairs.”

Interviews for “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” costars Shin Min-a and Lee Sang-yi, each scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday, were also canceled.
