Short track speed skater Choi Min-jeong suffered an injury in the middle of the International Skating Union (ISU) season.

Choi was hurt in the knee and ankle after colliding with Kim Ji-yu in the women’s 1500-meter final in the first round of the ISU World Cup on Saturday and colliding with Martina Valcepina of Italy during the following women’s 500-meter final. Choi missed out on the women’s 1000-meter quarterfinals on Sunday due to her injuries.

Choi, who is one of the world's top women's short track skaters, returned home from China to undergo medial examination while the rest of the short track speed skating team leaves for Nagoya, Japan for the second round of the ISU World Cup where Korea will be looking to earn Beijing Winter Olympic berths.
