Mirae Assent Life Insurance’s “Health Care Cancer Insurance” is gaining popularity as an all-in-one product with wide coverage, the company said.

Launched in March, the Health Care Cancer Insurance covers every stage from cancer prevention to treatment and recovery. Both basic and special contracts are available, ensuring a broad range of coverage for various types of cancer.

The standard contract coverage for breast and prostate cancer is the same as the coverage for general cancer, while the special contract offers up to 30 million won ($25,700) of insurance for thyroid cancer. Insurance for thyroid cancer usually has a relatively low amount of coverage.

Targeted drug therapy, which has comparatively minor side effects but high costs, can also be covered by the special contract. Subscribers can choose other options as well, even for non-cancer diseases, such as cardiac and cerebrovascular diseases.

Moreover, Mirae Asset Life Insurance offers a discount for non-smokers, women who have had the HPV vaccine shot and mothers who have given birth more than once.

Though cancer insurance in general pays only fifty percent of the coverage during the first year, Mirae Asset Life Insurance ensures 100 percent of the subscribed amount after the 90 day disclaimer period. Those who aged between 15 and 75 are eligible for the subscription, the company added.

“The Health Care Cancer Insurance is designed to cover every step, from cancer prevention to post-treatment convalescence, providing clients with a wide range of options,” an official from Mirae Asset Life Insurance said.

“It is an ideal choice for not only those who want a sufficient guarantee but also those who are looking for additional insurance.”
