Standard Chartered Bank Korea (SC Bank Korea) is hosting promotional events for its U.S. dollar-related services and mobile banking application until Oct. 31.

According to SC Bank Korea, clients will be eligible for the “Golden Dollar Event” after subscribing to the bank’s dollar-denominated products such as foreign currency account, fund, insurance and special money trust for the first time.

SC Bank Korea will randomly select twenty-six winners; one for first place, ten for second place and fifteen for third place. The first place winner will get a gold two-dollar bill made of 15 grams (0.5 ounce) of gold, while the second and the third place winners will be given 7.5 grams and 3.75 grams, respectively.

In order to enter the event, the amount deposited in customers’ accounts, whether it be in won or dollar, should not decrease compared to the previous month. Customers who qualify for the “Golden Dollar Event” will also get a favorable exchange rate when trading in foreign currency, the bank added.

SC Bank Korea offers Shinsegae mobile gift certificates and Starbucks gift cards for new customers as well, based on the volume of their transactions. Customers who invest a minimum of 1 million dollars into dollar-related products — excluding insurance — will receive Shinsegae gift certificates worth some 1 million won ($858).

Furthermore, SC Bank Korea will hand out gifts for those who are subscribing to a fund through SC Bank Korea’s mobile application. Every new subscriber will get a gift card for a beverage, and ten winners will be selected from those who invested over 10 million in the “Golden Dollar Event”.

“We hope our clients will to be able to experience the globally-competitive asset management services of SC Bank Korea and also win the lucky golden two-dollar bill,” an official from SC Bank Korea said.
