Former President Roh Tae-woo, who liked to call himself an “ordinary citizen,” passed away at age 89 following former Presidents Kim Young-sam and Kim Dae-jung and former Prime Minister Kim Jong-pil. Despite being part of the 1979 military coup, Roh paved the way to direct presidential elections. [PARK YONG-SEOK]
