LG Chem buys business
LG Chem Vice Chairman Shin Hak-cheol, center, celebrates the company's takeover of the Chemical and Electronic Materials (CEM) business unit of LG Electronics at the chemical maker's CEM factory in Cheongju, North Chungcheong. The CEM unit produces battery materials, such as separators and display materials. LG Chem acquired the business unit for 525 billion won ($445.7 million) in July. [YONHAP]
