Woori Financial Group was given an "AA" rating by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), the second highest of seven levels, for environmental social governance (ESG).

The MSCI ESG Rating examines the performance of a company and its commitment to socially responsible investments and ESG tasks.

Woori Financial Group climbed two levels from the BBB rating it got last year.

It received high scores in the corporate governance category. The financial group established an ESG management committee in February and mapped out a set of ESG financing principles in April.

“The higher ESG rating is an achievement that we were able to achieve from collective efforts of all of our employees,” said Woori Financial Group Chairman and CEO Sohn Tae-Seung. “We will continue to expand our ESG management.“
