Television network KBS responded to petitions from viewers demanding it brings back actor Kim Seon-ho on “1 Night, 2 Days,” stating on Monday that it cannot reverse the decision to cut him from the show.
Kim left the entertainment show on which he had been starring since 2019 after allegations emerged last month that he pressured his ex-girlfriend to have an abortion.
However, exposed screenshots of conversations between Kim and his ex-girlfriend revealed that the abortion was consensual and public opinion about Kim turned. Kim recently made a comeback on advertisements that had been temporarily halted due to the controversy.
While he is back in ads and working on film projects, KBS said the decision for Kim to leave the show cannot be reversed.
“[Kim and the production staff] discussed the matter before his leaving was announced,” stated KBS.
“We also regret that we can no longer show the harmony among six members who showed great chemistry over the past two years,” KBS added, dismissing the possibility of any comeback by Kim.
