Ground X, Kakao's blockchain technology subsidiary, announced Wednesday it will introduce a service for the trading of digital art pieces and for collecting non-fungible tokens (NFT).

The new service will be available Friday.

On the Klip Drops web page, users will be able to trade digital art pieces and collect NFTs. Klip Drops was first released in July in beta, but the company said a full-version release will be made available on Friday.

Trading digital art will be possible on the new system from 9 a.m. Friday and collecting NFTs from 9 a.m. Saturday. The NFTs to be offered  will be based not only on artwork but also movies and branded goods.

Klip Drops currently sell limited-edition digital artwork based on real-world art by local artists using Ground X's Klaytn public blockchain.

Han Jae-sun, CEO of Ground X, said that the company hopes to create an environment where anyone can own and enjoy digital art pieces and will strive to create a market for creators of digital artwork.
