Former Orix Buffaloes pitcher Tyler Eppler is reportedly close to signing a deal with the Kiwoom Heroes, according to U.S. reports Thursday.
Jon Heyman, a U.S. baseball pundit for a number of media channels including MLB Network, reported Thursday that Eppler has "agreed terms with the Kiwoom Heroes of the KBO League."
Eppler, a 28-year-old left-hander, played the 2019 season with the Buffaloes in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball league. The rest of his career has been played in the U.S. minor leagues, most recently with the Rochester Red Wings, an affiliate of the Washington Nationals.
Across 130 minor league appearances, Eppler has picked up 41 wins and 38 losses with a 4.24 ERA.
As of press time, the Heroes are yet to confirm a deal with Eppler.
