BTS has been nominated for a BRIT Award for the second consecutive year.
The boy band earned its second nomination in the category of “International Group of the Year,” alongside ABBA, Måneskin, Silk Sonic and The War On Drugs. The winner will be announced during the awards ceremony on Feb. 8 at the O2 Arena in London.
“Launched in 1977, the BRIT Awards with Mastercard are the annual showcase for the UK music industry,” the show’s website says.
“The BRIT Awards [...] celebrate not just the biggest successes in music but also operate as an important platform to introduce and promote new talent.”
Prior to the ceremony, BTS will find out whether it will win its first Grammy in January. It has been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the 64th Annual Grammy Awards for its megahit "Butter" (2021). The ceremony will take place on Jan. 31 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
