Kang Young-seo and Jung Dong-hyun will represent Korea on the alpine skiing slope.

Alpine skiing is one of the best-known Olympics sports, with competitors reaching hair-raising speeds as they zoom down the side of a mountain navigating a course of tight turns and jumps.

There are six alpine events, five individual and one team, running from Feb. 6 to 19 in Beijing, with over 300 athletes competing for 11 gold medals.

Korea has never won a medal in alpine skiing, but Jung has given it a good try. This will be his fourth Olympics, having competed at the 2010 Vancouver Games, 2014 Sochi Games and 2018 PyeongChang Games. Kang will be making her third Olympic appearance in Beijing.
