Singer Dawn, whose real name is Kim Hyo-jong, revealed he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, singer HyunA, on Thursday night.

Dawn uploaded a video on Instagram of HyunA’s hand, donning a ring he gave her, along with a photo of his and hers rings with the caption “Marry Me.”

HyunA, who was tagged in the post, shared the same pictures on her account, saying “Of course it’s yes” and “Thank you, thank you and thank you always.”

The couple’s agency P Nation has yet to confirm the news.

Fans expressed their shock and happiness, with comments asking if it was real receiving thousands of likes.

Dawn’s proposal post has over 900,000 likes as of Friday morning.

In the K-pop industry, celebrities' romantic relationships are still considered scandalous but HyunA and Dawn have been breaking that taboo for years after revealing that they have been dating since 2018.

They released a duet EP titled “1+1=1” with the lead track “Ping Pong” in September last year.

HyunA debuted as a member of now-disbanded girl group Wonder Girls in 2007. She debuted again in 2009 as a member of now-disbanded girl group 4Minute. She launched her solo career in 2010 and since then has established herself as a sexy icon, with hit songs like “Bubble Pop” (2011), “Ice Cream” (2012) and “Lip & Hip” (2017).

Dawn debuted as a member of boy band Pentagon in 2016, under Cube Entertainment, the same agency as HyunA during that time.

The pair were forced to leave the agency after admitting to being in a relationship.

He has released solo songs like “Money” (2019) and “Dawndididawn” (2020).
