Actor Jung Il-woo tests positive for Covid after hosting 'SNL Korea'
Actor Jung Il-woo tested positive for Covid-19 after hosting an episode of “Saturday Night Live Korea” (SNL Korea) season 2, his agency 9Ato Entertainment said Thursday.
All of his upcoming schedules have been canceled.
“After Jung filmed for SNL Korea last month, on Jan. 30 and 31, a staff member tested positive and Jung took a PCR test,” the agency said. “He tested positive for the virus but he is not exhibiting any symptoms as he has received three jabs of a vaccine.”
Jung debuted in 2006 in MBC’s legendary sitcom “High Kick!” (2006-07). He has since appeared in television dramas including MBC’s “The Return of Iljimae” (2009), SBS’s “49 Days” (2011) and recently MBN’s “Bossam: Steal the Fate” (2021).
Actor Heo Sung-tae tested negative on Thursday after hosting an episode of SNL Korea on Jan. 27.
His agency Hanahreum Company confirmed the news on Friday.
Heo is best known as the mobster Jang Deok-soo in Netflix’s “Squid Game” (2021). He has also appeared in the JTBC television drama series “Beyond Evil” (2021) and Netflix original sci-fi series “The Silent Sea” (2021).
