Promotions galore as Samsung starts taking Galaxy S22 orders

Samsung Electronics will start taking orders for Galaxy S22 smartphones for a week starting Monday ahead of sales that begin on Feb. 25.

From Feb. 14 to 21, customers can order the three new models — the 6.1-inch Galaxy S22, the 6.6-inch Galaxy S22 Plus and the 6.8-inch Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Purchases can be made at electronics markets, telecom company shops, Samsung Electronics stores and online shopping malls, including Coupang and G Market.

Those placing their orders will start receiving their phones from Feb. 22.

Galaxy S22 models have been introduced at the same prices as the previous series, the S21.

The standard 6.1-inch Galaxy S22 will retail for 999,900 won, and the 6.6-inch Galaxy S22 Plus 1.19 million won. The 6.8-inch Galaxy S22 Ultra, which comes with a built-in case for a stylus, will be priced at 1.45 million won for the lowest storage option.

There are four color options for the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus models — pink, green, white and black. The S22 Ultra phones come in three colors — graphite, sky blue and red.

Everyone ordering Galaxy S22 phones will get a one-year discount on after-sales service. Purchasers of the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus models will get 100,000-won ($83) coupons that can be used on the Samsung Electronics website. People who buy the Galaxy S22 Ultra will get 150,000 won in coupons.

A four-month membership to YouTube Premium, coupons for Naver webtoons and web novels and other online incentives will follow.

A non-fungible token (NFT) will be offered by Samsung Electronics and SK Telecom. The manufacturer will give Galaxy S22 buyers an NFT designed specifically for the Galaxy S22 users through Theta Network, a decentralized blockchain-based video delivery service.

SK Telecom will pick 2,000 customers in a lucky draw for two Ethereum-based NFTs: one from the telecom company and one from Peaches, a Korea-founded car customizing brand. The NFTs can be traded through the Korbit virtual asset exchange starting in the second half of the year.

Through a raffle, 66 people will be eligible for special meet-and-greets with Kim Yuna, the Olympic skater, League of Legends Esports player Lee Sang-hyuk — better known as Faker — and golfer Kim Han-byeol.

KT and LG U+ also offer benefits.

Purchasers of Galaxy S22 or the S22 Plus models through KT could win 100,000-won coupons, while those why buy the Galaxy S22 Ultra could win 150,000-won coupons.

LG U+ will pick 22 customers each day from Feb. 14 to 21 to win 1-million won coupons that can be used at department stores.
