Actor Han Ji-min and actor-singer Hyeri make donations to help Ukrainians
Actor Han Ji-min and actor-singer Hyeri made donations to support the Ukrainian victims of Russia's invasion, according to Unicef and entertainment agency Creative Group ING on Tuesday.
Han donated 100 million won ($83,470) to the Ukrainian children whose homes, schools and hygiene facilities have been destroyed. Unicef said that her donation will go toward providing first-aid kits, educational tools, sanitary items and nutritional packages for these minors.
Han is a veteran actor who debuted as an actor in 2003 through SBS drama series “All in” at the age of 21. She has since acted in dozens of films and drama series including JTBC’s “The Light in Your Eyes” (2019) and films “The Age of Shadows” (2016) and “Miss Baek” (2018).
Actor and K-pop singer Hyeri donated 50 million won.
“I wanted to be of small help to the helpless children in Ukraine,” said Hyeri through her agency Creative Group ING. “I hope for a world with no more war and violence.”
Hyeri’s donation will be used to buy diapers, baby food, protective shelters, hygiene kits and Covid-19 related items for Ukrainian minors, according to the agency.
Last week, Hyeri also made a donation to the victims of massive wildfires along the eastern coast of Korea.
Hyeri debuted as a member of Girl’s Day in 2010, however, she has been more focused on acting after seeing success in the hit drama series “Replay 1988” (2015) and the movie “Monstrum” (2018).
