Comedians Shin Dong-yeob, Kim Young-chul test positive for Covid-19

Comedian Shin Dong-yeob has tested positive for Covid-19, SM C&C announced Wednesday, causing havoc for numerous entertainment programs.

Shin is one of the busiest TV personalities, hosting numerous entertainment programs such as SBS’s “My Little Old Boy,” “Animal Farm,” tvN’s “Amazing Saturday,” KBS’s “Immortal Songs,” as well as “SNL Korea” and “Drink with God” on OTT services.

SM C&C said Shin got a positive result on Wednesday and that he is currently being treated at home. He is not showing any symptoms, the agency added. Shin had received three shots of a Covid vaccine.

Comedian Kim Young-chul also tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, his agency Mystic Story announced. Guest celebrities have been hosting Kim's daily radio program on SBS since Tuesday.

Mystic Story said that Kim began showing mild symptoms on Tuesday so he immediately went to get a PCR test. Kim also appears in JTBC’s “Men on a Mission.”

On Wednesday, new Covid-19 cases reached a record number of 342,446 according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, up 7,139,726 from the previous day.
