Video completion suggests Big Bang will soon be back
YG Entertainment on Wednesday said that boy band Big Bang has finished shooting its music video for a new song, signaling boy band's imminent return to the K-pop scene after a four year-hiatus.
"Big Bang's preparations for the new song is all going smoothly as planned," said the agency. "We will disclose the date of song's drop soon."
The title of the song has not been made public.
Considering that music video shoots are one of the final steps before K-pop artists make their music public, YG's latest announcement signals that the boy band's date of return is approaching.
Early last month, the agency declared the band's comeback to the K-pop scene.
It has been four years since Big Bang released “Flower Road” (2018), before going on an extensive hiatus due to the mandatory military service. It was also the last song to include ex-member Seungri, who departed from the band in 2019 after the Burning Sun scandal, an infamous sex, drugs and police protection scandal surrounding a nightclub of the same name.
The four remaining memebers are G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung and T.O.P.
Big Bang debuted in 2006 with the album “Big Bang Vol. 1 – Since 2007.” The band later achieved immense success with songs like “Lies” (2007), “Haru Haru” (2008), “Tonight” (2011), “Fantastic Baby” (2012) and “Bang Bang Bang” (2015).
